District Council

1.	A District Council shall consist of:
	(i)	Members of the Block or Tehsil or Conctituency Executive, fallingwithin its jurisdiction.
	(ii)	Members elected, in accordence with the rule prescribed frm the local bodies situated within the area of the District Council, not exceeding 100 of the total number of party members in such bodies.
	(iii)	Ex-President of the District Council who have completed one full term and are active members.
	(iv)	Members of Janata Dal (U) in legisletures both Central and State from the District.
	(v)	Leaders of Janata Dal (U) in Municipal corporations, Municipalities and District Boards, Zila Parishad or Janpada in the District.
	(vi)	Co-opted members.
2.	No Districts Unit shall be set up unless 50% of the intermediate units are duly constituted in its area.
3.	A District Executive shall consist of not more than 51 members, including the President elected by the members of the District Council in accordance with the rules prescribed. The President shall appoint the following office bearers from among the members of the District Executive. (a)Three Vice Presidents. (b)A Treasure (c)Not more than five Secretaries.
4.	The District President shall convene a meeting of the office bearers of intermediate units in its area at least once in three months.
